On Monday 4th July, Bovingdon Library celebrates its 20th birthday!
These photos show the newly built library in 1991. The grand opening on the 3rd of July attracted visitors from far and wide. Bovingdon’s library was the first in the county to be a dual use library, shared between the primary school and the general public. On Monday 4th July the library opened its doors and the first books could be borrowed.

I live in Doncaster now, however I used to live in Bovingdon and I opened the library after winning a costume competition (I attended Bovingdn Junior School). I opened the library dressed as Sir Lancelot and I had a piece of the cake pictured above!
