GRAND UNION CANAL

Built in the 1790’s, it was used by barges to bring coal & raw materials to the paper mills etc. and to take produce  (corn, watercress etc) and writing paper, envelopes back to  the towns and cities. Now it is used mainly for pleasure boats.
