Memories of Wood Lane

I used to live at No. 44 Wood Lane, directly opposite Park Cottage.

I would be interested to find any photographs of Park Cottage which was on the corner of Park Lane and Wood Lane. It was demolished, along with all the North side of Wood Lane in order to build the St Albans dual carriageway. It would also be interesting to know why Park Lane was so called.

I have done a rather bad drawing of this building in about 1953/4.   A 25″ map shows this building:   Even better, the National Library of Scotland produces old maps with a modern overlay. In the aerial view, Park Cottage is on the far right of the image, about half way up. I hope others find this interesting.
