Bream's Coaches of Hemel Hempstead

Featuring my Great Grandmother Emma Hall

By Natalie Hall

My great grandmother Emma Hall (nee Hearn) is the 2nd lady from the left. I believe this photo to be taken along Piccotts End Road.

She is also seen in this second photo, outside The Whip & Coller, Two Waters. 3rd lady from the right.

  • 1st Photo: The lady in center wearing all white was, Lillian “Lily” Emma Rance her daughter Annie Dorothy Rance is standing in front of her and Sarah (Jeffs) Rance to Lillian’s left is Lillian’s mother. Yes, taken on Piccott’s End. The lady to Lillian’s right with white stockings was her employer’s daughter. Her employer’s family kind of adopted Lillian like their own. (Lillian was not married at the time of photo.) A few of the other ladies names will add on later.
